• Beschreibung: 6-Nitroveratronitrile is a β-caryophyllene found in the essential oil of plants belonging to the Asteraceae and Lamiaceae families. It has been shown that 6-nitroveratronitrile can be demethylated by nitroreductase enzymes, which are found in the soil bacterium Antrodia camphorata. The main volatile compounds detected in the headspace of 6-nitroveratronitrile are 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene and 3,5-dimethoxyphenol. 6-Nitroveratronitrile has been used as an insecticide and acaricide. Analysis of this compound by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) on a microextraction (ME) fiber revealed that it also contains leucanthemum, asteraceae, vulgare, agastache and gefitinib.
