4-Nitropyrazole is a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound. It has a molecular weight of 148.14 and a melting point of 112.5 degrees Celsius, as well as an observed boiling point of 183 degrees Celsius. 4-Nitropyrazole has been shown to interact with hydrogen bonds, forming a hydrogen bond with the amide group of proteins. This interaction is believed to be responsible for the solubility data that shows this molecule to be soluble in water and polar organic solvents but insoluble in nonpolar organic solvents such as benzene or hexane. 4-Nitropyrazole has been shown to have vibrational and proton NMR spectra that are consistent with its molecular formula C4N3O2N.
