Nitron is an inorganic acid that is used as a pharmaceutical preparation. Nitron is a strong oxidizing agent and can cause oxidative injury to the bowel. It has been shown to be beneficial for inflammatory bowel disease, which may be due to its antioxidant properties. Nitron is stable in acidic media and can be used in pharmaceutical preparations with hydrochloric acid or fatty acids. Nitron also has chemical stability and does not react with hydrogen.
