Beschreibung:Oryzalin is a herbicide that inhibits protein synthesis by inhibiting the activity of fatty acid synthase, which is an enzyme involved in lipid synthesis. It also inhibits the activity of several other enzymes, including those involved in protein synthesis. Oryzalin inhibits the growth of prostate cancer cells and diploid cells, but not tumor cells that are aneuploid or polyploid. This drug is effective against plants at concentrations between 0.02 mM and 2 mM. The optimum concentration for plant growth inhibition is 1 mM, while the optimum concentration for cell culture inhibition is 0.1 mM. Oryzalin has been shown to be most effective when used with hydrochloric acid as a carrier solution.
