Beschreibung

Ornoprostil is a prostaglandin analog that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease. It has been shown to inhibit the production of growth factor-β1 (GF-β1) in an experimental model and may be effective in treating symptoms of bowel disease. Ornoprostil is not an analog of any other drug, but it does have some structural similarities to other prostaglandins. Ornoprostil is orally administered as a pharmaceutical dosage for the treatment of patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Ornoprostil has been shown to be effective in controlling mucosal lesions and may also be useful for diabetic neuropathy because it can inhibit the production of fatty acids.
