Produktinformation
- (2S,3S)-oxirane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid
- Trans-Epoxysuccinic acid
(+/-)-trans-Oxirane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid is a catalysed, regiospecific oxirane that inhibits the activity of racemase. (+/-)-trans-Oxirane-2,3-dicarboxylic acid can be used in chemical biology and analytical chemistry. In the brain, it has been shown to inhibit the function of tubule cells and inhibitory activities. It also has an inhibitory effect on the production of a major excitatory neurotransmitter (glutamate) in the brain by blocking its reuptake. This substance is found in human urine where it can be detected using an analytical method involving hydrochloric acid as an acid catalyst.
