Beschreibung

1-Octadecanol is a long-chain alcohol that can be found in plant waxes and oils. It has been shown to have antimicrobial properties, which may be due to its ability to disrupt the cell membrane of bacteria or fungi. 1-Octadecanol can also be used as a treatment for infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria. It has been shown to be effective against resistant strains of bacteria, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The use of 1-octadecanol in wastewater treatment is also promising because it is biodegradable, non-toxic, and has high resistance to oxidation.
