- cis-9,10-OctadecenoamideOleylamideOleic acid amide
Oleamide is a lipid produced by the body that has been shown to have neurotrophic effects in experimental models. Oleamide binds to 5-HT2 receptors and P2Y receptors, which are present in the central nervous system and have been implicated in various physiological functions. Oleamide also has biochemical properties that suggest its function as an energy metabolite. It is believed that oleamide may be involved in the regulation of energy metabolism through the activation of protein kinase C (PKC), an enzyme that regulates cell proliferation, inflammation, and intracellular signaling cascades. In addition, oleamide has been shown to inhibit neuronal death induced by methyl myristate and other chemical compounds. The reaction solution used for this experiment was composed of methyl myristate, human serum albumin, and oleamide. This reaction solution can be used to measure oleamide concentration in human serum samples.br>br>
Oleamide is not known to be toxic or carcinogenic at doses
