Beschreibung

OSU-03012 is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of beta-lactam antibiotics. It has shown potent activity against antibiotic-resistant strains, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. OSU-03012 binds to the response element on the surface of cells, blocking viral replication. OSU-03012 inhibits the polymerase chain reaction by binding to DNA polymerase at the active site and preventing formation of an RNA primer. This drug also activates apoptosis by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane potential and autophagy pathways in cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to bind to Mcl-1 protein.
