Beschreibung

2-Oxo-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl methacrylate is an ammonium salt that can be used as a quaternizing agent. It has been shown to react with epoxides and tribromide to form cyclic polymers. This compound has also been used in the synthesis of polyester, polyamides, and polyurethanes. 2-Oxo-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methyl methacrylate is synthesized by reaction between styrene, chloride, divinylbenzene, and isobutyrate. Copolymerization reactions are often carried out using this compound as well.
