Beschreibung

4'-(Octyloxy)-4-biphenylcarbonitrile (OPPC) is a crystalline polymorph that belongs to the liquid crystal group and has two low energy forms: nematic and smectic. OPPC has transport properties that are temperature dependent, with nematic phase transition temperatures at about -120 degrees Celsius. It is also characterized by low activation energies for the solute transport and a low molecular weight.
