Beschreibung

4-Oxo-4-(2-thienyl)butyric acid is a low energy, connective monocarboxylic acid that is a precursor to butyric acid. The compound can be used in the production of polybutadiene and polybutadiene rubber. 4-Oxo-4-(2-thienyl)butyric acid has been shown to be an efficient electron donor in polymerization reactions and can be used as a monomer for the production of photovoltaic cells. The compound has also been shown to have low toxicity and high stability in the environment.
