Beschreibung

Oroxylin A is a natural product that has been shown to have anti-allergic effects. It binds to the bcl-2 protein and prevents the release of pro-apoptotic proteins, thereby preventing apoptosis. Oroxylin A also inhibits the efflux of drugs from cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit drug transporters. It has been shown to have biologic activity in melanoma cells and PC12 cells, where it induces the expression of genes involved in cell proliferation and differentiation. Oroxylin A also has an isomerase activity that converts wogonoside into oroxylin B. The conversion of wogonoside into oroxylin B by oroxylin A may be used to produce a composition containing both compounds for use as a drug.
