• Beschreibung: Oxypaeoniflorin is a flavonoid that shows hypoglycemic effects. It is found in the roots of Paeoniae Alba and Curcuma aromatica. Oxypaeoniflorin has been shown to inhibit the activity of α-amylase, α-glucosidase, and lipase, as well as stimulate insulin secretion by pancreatic β cells. This compound also inhibits the activity of acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase and suppresses the synthesis of prostaglandins. Oxypaeoniflorin has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with dehydrocostus lactone, which enhances its anti-inflammatory properties. Oxypaeoniflorin also induces signal pathways involving ERK1/2 phosphorylation and NF-κB activation in murine macrophages.
