Oxythiamine diphosphate ammonium is a coenzyme found in animals that is necessary for the conversion of thiamine pyrophosphate to its active form, thiamine diphosphate. Oxythiamine diphosphate ammonium has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on enzymes that catalyze the decarboxylation of amino acids.
