Beschreibung:Pyrasulfotole is a sulfonylurea herbicide that is used to control broadleaf weeds in crops such as wheat and corn. It acts by inhibiting the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS) in plants, which is necessary for the biosynthesis of the branched-chain amino acids valine, leucine, and isoleucine. Pyrasulfotole binds to ALS and prevents the formation of an enzyme-substrate complex. This results in a decrease in the levels of these essential amino acids, leading to chlorosis and death of the plant. Pyrasulfotole has been shown to be effective against weeds such as Triticum aestivum, but not against related species such as Triticum compactum.
