Beschreibung

4-(3-Pyridin-2-yl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)butanoic acid (NSC743190) is a novel histone deacetylase inhibitor that has been shown to protect against cardiac tissue injury in rats. It also binds to polymerase chain reaction particles and inhibits DNA synthesis by competitive inhibition at the topoisomerases. The gene upregulation is mediated through neurotrophic factors and chemokines, which are ligands for the receptor. This results in increased neuronal death and reduced bacterial translocation into the blood stream. NSC743190 has also been shown to chelate metal ions such as iron and copper, which may have implications for hepatic steatosis or human serum albumin.
