Beschreibung

2-(3-Phenoxyphenyl)propanoic acid (fenoprofen) is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used for the treatment of disease activity and pain. Fenoprofen binds to the cyclooxygenase enzyme, blocking the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins, which are inflammatory mediators. It also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β that are important in cell signaling. Fenoprofen is combined with other drugs, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to provide relief from pain and inflammation. The rate constant for the reaction of fenoprofen with human serum α1-acid glycoprotein was determined by fluorescence spectroscopy.
