Produktinformation
Perfluorodecanesulfonate sodium is a perfluorinated compound that can be used as an ionizable reagent in chemical ionization mass spectrometry. It reacts with carboxylate ions to form a stable complex that can be detected by electron capture detection. Perfluorodecanesulfonate sodium has been shown to bind to the acid binding protein, which is found in the peroxisome and binds fatty acids. This binding inhibits the uptake of fatty acids into the peroxisome and prevents peroxisome proliferation. The dry weight of cells exposed to perfluorodecanesulfonate sodium was significantly lower than control cells after evaporation. This result may be due to its ability to bind water molecules and decrease their availability for cellular processes.
