• Beschreibung: Pyranoridinetetraphosphate is a potent inhibitor of the polymerase chain reaction. It has been shown to be active against chloroquine-resistant Plasmodium falciparum in vitro and in vivo. Pyranoridinetetraphosphate also has an antimalarial activity against chloroquine-sensitive Plasmodium falciparum, but not against chloroquine-resistant strains. Pyronaridine, the parent compound of pyranoridinetetraphosphate, is a naturally occurring drug that has been used for the treatment of bowel diseases for many years. Pyranoridinetetraphosphate is also used as a matrix effect enhancer in the electrochemical detection of MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells.
