Beschreibung

4-(trans-4'-propylcyclohexyl)cyclohexan-1-one is a selective synthetic intermediate. It is a high boiling point liquid with a strong odor and is soluble in water. The sodium salt of 4-(trans-4'-propylcyclohexyl)cyclohexan-1-one can be prepared by the reaction of sodium nitrate with the edta salt of 4-(trans-4'-propylcyclohexyl)cyclohexan-1-one. The catalyst for this reaction can be sodium nitrate, hydrogenation, or nitric acid. The product is then purified by distillation under high pressure and temperature.
