Beschreibung

(S)-1-Pyridin-2-yl-ethylamine is a ligand with a pyridine ring. In crystal structure analysis, it has been shown that the hydroxyl group and the aminopyridine are located on opposite sides of the pyridine ring. The molecule has an excited state in which electrons move from one atom to another, leading to the formation of an exciton. Excitons can be formed by a transition between two different electronic states or by the transfer of electronic energy from one atom to another. Excitons have been studied extensively for their potential application in lasers and solar cells. (S)-1-Pyridin-2-yl-ethylamine is also used as a reagent for chloride, difluoro, azide, and sulfoxide synthesis.
