Beschreibung

Pinobanksin acetate is a polymeric cinnamic acid derivative that has immunomodulatory effects. It can be prepared by the condensation of lysine residues with phenolic acid, followed by the polymerization of this monomeric unit. Pinobanksin acetate has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice, as well as reducing inflammation and pain in rats. These biological properties are due to its ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species and inhibit the activation of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB). The linear regression analysis showed that pinobanksin acetate is more effective than other cinnamic derivatives when used for cancer treatment. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy confirmed that pinobanksin acetate was able to reduce cervical cancer cell proliferation, which may be due to its ability to inhibit NF-κB activity.
