2-Propylvaleryl chloride (2PVC) is a fatty acid that can be synthesized from valeric acid and acetic anhydride. It has been shown to have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects in animal studies, but there are no data available on the effectiveness of 2PVC against human cancers or inflammatory diseases. 2PVC exhibits a number of biological properties, such as antioxidant activity and inhibition of apoptosis. This compound also has an inhibitory effect on insulin resistance, which may be due to its ability to reduce levels of prostaglandin E2 in urine samples.
