Produktinformation
2,2'-(Phenylphosphinediyl)dipyridine is a ligand used in the preparation of palladium complexes. It is prepared by the reaction of phenylphosphine with dipyridinium dichloroiodide. 2,2'-(Phenylphosphinediyl)dipyridine has been shown to be an effective ligand for several palladium complexes, including palladacycles and bis-palladacycles. The cavity of these complexes can be modified by substitution with other ligands such as carbonyl or nitrogen atoms. The crystal structure of 2,2'-(Phenylphosphinediyl)dipyridine was determined using x-ray diffraction studies and shows that it is a mononuclear complex with a phosphine bound to each metal atom. This complex also has an oxidized form that has been shown to have superior catalytic properties for certain reactions.
