Propacetamol hydrochloride is a medicine that belongs to the group of medicines called acetates. It is an acylation reaction product of propanol and chloroacetic acid with sodium citrate and glucose injection. Propacetamol hydrochloride is used for the treatment of pain, especially abdominal surgery. Propacetamol hydrochloride has shown toxic effects on the skin, which may be due to its ability to cause epidermal necrosis. This drug also has anti-inflammatory effects and can inhibit the release of histamine from mast cells by competing for heparin at the cell surface receptor site. The molecular weight of propacetamol hydrochloride is about 604 Daltons.
