Beschreibung

3-(2-Pyridinylamino)-propanol is a potent inhibitor of integrin αIIbβ3, which is an important receptor for platelet aggregation. 3-(2-Pyridinylamino)-propanol also inhibits the binding of fibrinogen to the receptor and the activation of phospholipase A2 in human neutrophils. The basic moieties of 3-(2-pyridinylamino)-propanol are thought to be responsible for its potency and selectivity for integrin αIIbβ3. This drug can be used as a research tool to study platelet aggregation and has potential as a therapeutic agent for thrombotic disorders such as coronary artery disease or stroke.
