Purvalanol A also blocks the ABCG2 transporter, which transports drugs across the cell membrane, and prevents transcriptional regulation by taxol. Purvalanol A induces pluripotent cells to differentiate into neural cells and may be useful for treating Parkinson's disease as well as carcinomas.
