• Beschreibung: 2-Phenylbutyric acid is a product of the oxidation of phenylacetic acid by flavus. 2-Phenylbutyric acid is an inhibitor of contactor reactions that use α1-acid glycoprotein as a chromatographic support. It has been shown to inhibit the reaction mechanism of extractants (e.g., butamirate citrate) with enantiomeric compounds (e.g., creatine). It also inhibits subclinical mastitis in cows and fatty acid synthesis, leading to decreased cholesterol synthesis in humans.
