• Beschreibung: Pronethalol is a dpp-iv inhibitor that binds to the enzyme as a competitive antagonist. It has been shown to reduce blood pressure in rats with chronic pulmonary hypertension. Pronethalol also has biphasic effects on heart rate, increasing it at low doses and decreasing it at high doses. This effect may be due to its ability to block alpha-adrenergic receptors, which are responsible for vasoconstriction and increased heart rate. Pronethalol has also been shown to significantly inhibit aminotransferase activity in mice, which may be due to its inhibition of pyridoxine 4'-phosphate (PNP) reductase and pyridoxine 5'-phosphate (PNP) oxidase. The test compound is a white crystalline solid that can be detected by fluorescence detector or chromatographic methods.
