Beschreibung

3-(2-Pyridyldithio)propionic acid N-succinimidyl ester is a succinimidyl ester of 3-(2-pyridyldithio)propionic acid. It can be activated to form a reactive thiol. This compound has been shown to bind to the epidermal growth factor receptor and inhibit its binding with the epidermal growth factor. The monoclonal antibody binds to the tumor cell surface and initiates an immune response by stimulating the production of cytotoxic T cells. 3-(2-Pyridyldithio)propionic acid N-succinimidyl ester is used as a model system for this reaction in analytical chemistry.
