N-Phenyl-1-naphthylamine is a fluorescent probe that can be used to measure the hydrophobic effect and detect binding of odorant molecules. It has been shown to bind to human serum albumin, and its fluorescence intensity is proportional to the concentration of albumin in solution. N-Phenyl-1-naphthylamine is also known as an intramolecular hydrogen acceptor, which can be used for measuring the phase transition temperature of organic compounds. This compound has been shown to have strong photosynthetic activity and cell lysis properties. It also reacts with sodium citrate in vitro, which could lead to potential applications in food preservation or cleaning methods.
