1-Phenoxy-2-phenylethane is a phenolic compound that has been shown to have a number of pharmacological effects. It is soluble in water and has hydrogen bonding interactions with other molecules. The reaction mechanism for 1-Phenoxy-2-phenylethane involves the formation of an enolate, which reacts with sodium carbonate to form a phenol. This process occurs in the presence of phenyl and hydroxyl groups. The kinetic data for 1-Phenoxy-2-phenylethane show that it has a high affinity for proximal tubules. It also can cause glomerular filtration rate and lignin to decrease as well as reducing blood sugar levels in diabetic mice.
