• Beschreibung: 1,4-Piperazinedipropanesulfonic acid (1,4PDPS) is a potent inhibitor of proton pump H+, K+-ATPase. It has been shown to be effective for the treatment of inflammatory diseases in animal models. The drug binds to the active site of the enzyme and prevents ATP from binding and hydrolyzing into ADP and phosphate. This irreversible inhibition leads to a decrease in gastric acid secretion and relief from inflammation symptoms. 1,4PDPS has also been studied as an antiviral agent against pandemic influenza virus. The drug inhibits viral replication by binding to the viral RNA polymerase complex, blocking transcription and translation of viral proteins.
