1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene is a functional group that has heat resistance and can be used as a protecting group for amines. It is also a functional group that can be used to form cationic polymerization and radical coupling in organic synthesis. 1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene is an efficient method of synthesizing polymers, with its use in synthetic chemistry being well documented. 1-Phenyl-1-trimethylsilyloxyethylene has the ability to react with aldehydes, including formaldehyde, to produce isomers of the original compound.
