Beschreibung

PEG 3000 is a polymer that can be used to create solid dispersions. It is a white powder with a molecular weight of ~3000 Da and is water-soluble. PEG can be used as an excipient in pharmaceutical preparations in order to improve the solubility, stability, and bioavailability of drugs. PEG has been shown to enhance the detection sensitivity of monoclonal antibodies in immunoassays. The surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) was also found to increase antibody reactivity. PEG has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects due to its ability to inhibit pancreatic α-amylase, which breaks down carbohydrates into simple sugars for absorption by the body.
