Beschreibung:Praeruptorin D is a salivianolic compound that has been shown to inhibit the production of tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in vitro. In vivo, it has also been shown to decrease the number of leukocytes and polymorphonuclear cells in the lungs of rats with acute lung injury. The pharmacokinetic study showed that praeruptorin D is metabolized by human cytochrome P450 enzymes, which may explain its low bioavailability and short half-life. This drug has been shown to be effective as an adjuvant therapy for life-threatening infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria and is also active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium avium complex, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
