Beschreibung

Pristimerin is a natural product that inhibits the activity of the P-glycoprotein (P-gp), which is an efflux pump that exports drugs from cells. The inhibition of P-gp by pristimerin leads to increased accumulation of drugs at higher concentrations in the cells, which can lead to apoptosis. In addition, pristimerin has been shown to increase intracellular ATP levels and inhibit growth factor-β1. This synergistic effect may be useful for treating bowel disease and cancer.
