Beschreibung:2,3,4,5,6-Pentafluorocinnamic Acid is a functional group that has been used in the synthesis of novel antioxidants. The compound has been shown to inhibit chronic inflammation and cancer in animal studies. The 2,3,4,5,6-Pentafluorocinnamic acid inhibits the activation of nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB) by reducing the oxidation of its inhibitor IκBα. It also inhibits the activity of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and blocks NFκB-mediated tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα) production in human monocytes. In addition to these effects on inflammation and cancer cells, 2,3,4,5,6-Pentafluorocinnamic Acid also prevents uv irradiation from damaging cellular DNA.
