Beschreibung

Recombinant human IGF-I is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and inhibits its activity. Recombinant human IGF-I has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This drug has been shown to inhibit the metabolism of human IGF-I and reduce its clearance from the blood. It has also been shown to bind to the EGFR with high affinity and is potent enough to inhibit collagen synthesis in a membrane system. Recombinant human IGF-I is used for treatment of pediatric patients with bowel disease, as well as adults who are unresponsive or resistant to other therapies.
