Beschreibung

Ruthenium chloride hydrate is an active complex that consists of a metal, ruthenium (III), and a ligand, chloride. It has been used in the synthesis of molecules with 4-hydroxycoumarin as a key intermediate. Ruthenium chloride hydrate can be prepared by reacting ruthenium oxide with hydrochloric acid and sulfamic acid. The reaction is carried out at high temperature and pressure in the presence of an oxidation catalyst such as chloroplatinic acid or platinum black. This method is efficient because the reaction does not require organic solvents or expensive reagents. The optical properties of this compound have been studied extensively, showing that it absorbs in the visible region of the spectrum and emits light in the near-infrared region.
