Beschreibung

Rac-6-fluoro-3,4-dihydro-4-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-2-carboxylic acid is a hydroxyacetophenone derivative that has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Racemic 6FDA has been shown to be an active compound in the catalytic reduction of trichloroacetic acid. It also has isoforms that are separated by the use of chiral resolution or optical rotation. This process produces two types of optical isomers: one with a (+) configuration and the other with a (-) configuration. The (+) configuration has been shown to have pharmacological effects, while the (-) configuration does not. Racemic 6FDA is often used as a reaction product in Friedel-Crafts reactions.
