Rhodamine B isothiocyanate (RBITC) is a fluorescent dye that can be synthesized by reacting 2,4-dinitrobenzene with aniline. RBITC fluoresces in the visible spectrum, but has also been shown to fluoresce in the near infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The microstructural and morphological properties of RBITC have been studied using simulations methods such as molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo techniques. RBITC has a spinodal decomposition behavior when heated or cooled, which can be used to study transport pathways in solids. These pathways are motivated by connectivity and topological techniques.
