• Beschreibung: Salicylaldehyde azine (SAZ) is a polymerized compound that has been shown to inhibit tyrosinase, an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of L-tyrosine to DOPA and dopaquinone. It can be used as a fluorescent probe for metal ions and has been used in the preparation of aluminium salts. The interaction of SAZ with protonated functional groups on tyrosinase leads to inhibition by blocking the active site. This inhibition is reversible and can be reversed by adding a reducing agent such as sodium dithionite.
