Beschreibung:Sodium salicylate is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat inflammatory bowel disease. It has been shown to inhibit leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) and nf-κb binding activity, which leads to the suppression of inflammation and cancer. Sodium salicylate also binds to DNA, inhibiting dna binding activity and preventing transcription. This drug also inhibits mitochondrial membrane potential as well as signal pathways, which may lead to apoptosis. Sodium salicylate has been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the synthesis of proinflammatory proteins such as COX-2, prostaglandins, nitric oxide synthase, and inducible nitric oxide synthase. It also has a hypoglycemic effect.
