Beschreibung

Secalciferol is a vitamin D analog that has been shown to have potent inductive effects on human polymorphonuclear leukocytes and HL-60 cells. These cells are important in the immune system and secalciferol may be a new treatment for bowel disease. Secalciferol also has synergistic effects with other drugs, such as sephadex g-100, which can be used to separate macromolecules from small molecules in solution. Sephadex g-100 is a highly selective adsorbent that is often used in analytical methods to identify proteins. The response element for secalciferol has not yet been identified, but it is possible that this drug could activate genes involved in pluripotent cell growth or differentiation into various cell types.
