Sodium new houttuyfonate is a monosodium salt that is used in pharmaceutical preparations. It is the sodium salt of a synthetic compound that inhibits the enzyme polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Sodium new houttuyfonate has been shown to inhibit replication of DNA and RNA, which can be useful in the treatment of infectious diseases caused by tissue infections.
