Beschreibung:ST 1059 is a new antimicrobial peptide that is derived from fatty acid. It has been shown to have a matrix effect on blood pressure, as well as antimicrobial effects in the cardiovascular system. ST 1059 also has an oral prodrug form and can be administered orally. This drug may be used for the treatment of symptoms associated with high blood pressure, such as systolic pressure. Pharmacokinetic studies have been conducted in experimental models to determine the pharmacological treatment of ST 1059. The results showed that ST 1059 has a short half-life in rats and mice.
ST 1059 may also be used for the prevention of heart disease, by reducing cholesterol levels and fatty acids, as well as preventing plaque formation on artery walls.
