Succinimidyl 6-[3-(2-pyridyldithio)propionamido]hexanoate is an amide that is used as a model system to study protein synthesis. It binds to lysine residues on the surface of cells and stimulates the production of proteins by binding to the EGF receptor. This product has been shown to enhance oxygenated growth factor, which may be due to its ability to inhibit PDGF receptors.
