Beschreibung

Sudan Black B is a water-soluble dye that is used in the preparation of cell samples for electron microscopy. This dye stains the nuclear material, which makes it easier to identify and localize cell nuclei. The dye is also used as a model system for genotoxic effects, because it has been shown to cause liver lesions in rats and mice. Sudan Black B can be used as an analytical method for detecting DNA damage in human serum. It has been found to bind with basic proteins, which may lead to apoptosis pathway activation and polymorphonuclear leucocyte death.
